Bravery
Bravery, I hear it when it knocks
Bravery, when I answer I feel fear
Bravery, shows up in unexpected places
Bravery, connects with our deepest emotions and desires
The forest is dark and the gloom is heavy on my skin
The trees branches loom high above
Sounds here are many, vague, and distant
My path was lost long ago
I want to move forward, yet I can’t seem to find what direction that is
The moonlight shines upon my face and I look up
Contrasting against the pale moon, I see a demon
In my heart, I know that death approaches
Looking around, it seems fate is closing in
Where is my angle, what do I have in store, I ask
In the deep recesses of my mind
A small belief starts to grow
There is nothing I can do
And along with it, its twin follows
It is not a thought, I feel an energy, stormy and powerful
Breathe, breathe, breathe, focus and be present
If I was to put it in words, it would say
I am still alive as the moment has yet to pass
And that hope is found by those who search
Here my friends,
Is our chance to charge ahead, not at the demon
Nor the darkness
Nor the fright that consumes our every movement
It is our chance to fight our strongest desires and illusions
The moment is now
We must make the path
And there among the shadows of the universe
We will find something worthy of being followed
Something worth sacrificing for
And at the last, a hall of glory
