Emptiness and Direction
What is a church without believers and the faithful
A fate unchanged, as only God remains
Silence can be a most pure prayer for those full of life
Leaving the mind with nothing to tame
Are we animals on the inside
Only chaos and fear
We look for God to find the right side
Filling our cups with the prayers of the weary
What else is there to be done
As preceded by the mantra of silence
To tame our foresight is to be shown
Listening for the sounds of humility, no violence
We contribute no evil and this way make a change
Forcing the momentum of our humanity to deviate
I am trying to find this lane
One to eat and drink in quietly, only looking to alleviate
No action is what this aforementioned church requires
The profound sound of humility works its wonders
Peeling our eyes from the world to the internal, allowing ourselves to retire
Quit the constant battle of worldly illusions, ceasing the blunder
I am speaking of letting the world play out its silly game
Let us not make a change with force
Instead make a change with closeness, relinquishing the fame
Allow the illusions to dissipate as will be its natural course
The water will fall off the edge
Creating a waterfall
I am a small fish whose curious about the rules which have created this ledge
I do what I can to embrace this fall over the edge into the Lord’s hall
Silent and serene
Only those who can appreciate this silence may speak
Relinquishing the glamour and gleam
Taming the monster within, the freak
The water washes over as I breathe it in
Filling my lungs as I interpret its message
Silence, a most useful tool to feel what is within
With this tool I eliminate the paths that lead to wreckage
So simple yet almost impossible
Please Lord, allow me the strength to follow
To make the impossible possible
And not retreat to my clever fox hole
I wish to stand strong
And guard my spirit as I reside in this tapestry
As part of it, contributing my internal world to all else that’s around this pond
Allowing my spirit to slip deeper within the fantasy
