Masculinity.

Through my experience so far, I’ve found the societal view of masculinity to be either extremely mixed or unclear, perhaps ambiguous at best. It seems to me that after the bloodiest century in human history and also entry into unprecedented prosperity, American society and the West at large, has rejected whatever view or basis of masculinity it had held previously. As we proceed further into the third decade of the subsequent century, I see a growing need for a revival of masculinity. And an adoption of redefined masculine values in our Western societies. Perhaps I will write more on this topic in the future.

  1. A great and timely topic. It may be time to think about what masculinity is instead of what we, individually or societally, want it to be. It can actually be dangerous to pretend it is something it is not, or just some construct instead of natural. That is just another thinly veiled assault on masculinity. The exceptions are so few they prove the rule. You might like this book by Richard Reeves from the left leaning Brookings Institute. He is very honest about the research and data, and the risks if we don’t act as if male masculinity is real. https://youtu.be/DBG1Wgg32Ok
